2019

The town of Hillsborough launched a lawsuit against the esteemed owner of the house, Madam Florence Fang. The complaint frivolously alleged that the improvements and modifications made by the owner were deemed a "public nuisance," placing significant emphasis on the purported absence of proper permits for these alterations.

2017

The iconic Flintstone House gracefully embraced its new distinguished owner, Madam Florence Feng, a renowned Chinese American businesswoman, accomplished publisher, and dedicated philanthropist. With a heartfelt intention to bring her cherished childhood dream to life during her retirement years, she acquired the house, embarking on a journey to fulfill her long-held youth fantasy.

2000

Initially sporting an off-white hue, the house underwent a striking transformation in the year 2000, when it was artfully repainted in a captivating deep orange shade. Adding a touch of vibrancy to the scene, one of the domes received a subsequent makeover, graced with a captivating coat of regal purple.

1987

During the mid-1980s, the house succumbed to a state of disrepair, as the foundation suffered from water runoff originating higher up on the mountainside, resulting in detrimental cracks appearing on the walls. Despite unsuccessful efforts to seal these cracks, a comprehensive restoration project was undertaken, breathing new life into the cherished structure.

1976

Architect William Nicholson ingeniously crafted the house, forming an integral part of a groundbreaking collection of domed structures. Showcasing visionary design, the residence stands tall upon a robust concrete slab foundation. Its meticulous construction involved the precise application of shotcrete onto steel rebar and wire mesh frames, with inflated aeronautical balloons serving as a pivotal element throughout the process. Remarkably, not a single piece of wood was utilized in the creation of this exceptional dwelling, epitomizing its innovative and unique character.
